The temperature scale is made with the help of two fixed temperatures called the two fixed points

Lower fixed point : it is also called as ice point because it refers to the melting point of ice. It has been given the value of 0 degree on Celsius scale, 32 degree on Fahrenheit scale and 273k on kelvin scale.

Upper fixed point : it is also called as steam point because it refers to the boiling point of water. It has been given the value of 100 degree on Celsius scale, 112 degree on Fahrenheit scale and 373k on kelvin scale.
