Answer:

Mole fraction

is a unit of concentration, defined to be equal to the number of moles of a component divided by the total number of moles of a solution.

Because it is a ratio, mole fraction is a unitless expression. The mole fraction of all components of a solution, when added together, will equal 1.

Answer:-

Mole fraction is denoted by X

Defination:-

One of the unit of Concentration is mole fraction,and mole fraction is equal to the number of moles of a component divided by the total number of moles of a solution.

Mole fraction of solute

a) Mole fraction of solute is define by number of moles of solute divided by the total numbers of moles of solution.

=> X (solute)

=(moles of solute)/(total moles of solution)

Mole fraction of solvent

b) Mole fraction of solvent is define by number of moles of solvent divided by the total numbers of moles of solution.

=> X (solvent)

=(moles of solvent)/(total moles of solution)

where,we know:-

X (solute) + X (solvent) = 1

i hope it helps you.
