The symbiotic mode is one of the most important modes of nutrition for plants. In the symbiotic mode of nutrition both Fungus and Algea are involved in a mutual relationship which is also known as Lichen. Here the Fungus is termed as Mycobiont and it plays an important role in providing food and shelter to it's partner Algea. In this case Mycobiont absorbs nutrients and water from dead and decayed matter in order to sustain it's partner.
