Pleomorphic bacteria are those, which shows variable shape and size in a response to changing environmental conditions (ie. they can be rod shaped in a particular environment and in next moment they may be of coccoid shaped). eg. Deinococcus, Helicobacter pylori, Mycoplasma etc.

Some are pleomorphic, that means variable in shape. Such bacteria have no particular shape or have a shape that is different from those 3 sterotypical shapes. The very common example one could think of is Mycoplasma. They are tinier than the average sized bacteria
