The principal stops are discussed as under:

1. Comma - It's principal stop is when words are required to be separated. These words can be series, lists, independent clauses, adjectives, nouns, etc.

2. Exclamation mark - Its principal stop is, end of the sentence expressing any  feeling like sorrow or after interjections, etc.

3. Question mark - Its principal stop is at the end of the sentence when you  are asking question.

4. Full stop - Its principal stop is end of the sentence.
