resistance is the obstruction offered to the flow of current carriers.
resistivity is the resistance offered to a substance which has area of 1 sq units and length 1 unit.
for metals
resistivity can be defined as the obstruction offered by the positive metal ions to to the negetive electrons.
this decreases the flow of electron thus decreasing the current
note: resisitivity is the resisance for a conductor of 1sq unit area and 1 unit length only.
