Two methods of asexual reproduction:

❒ Budding :

  • It is the type of asexual reproduction in which a small part of the body of the parent organism detaches and matures and becomes a new organism.

  • Example : Hydra which is simple multicellular animal reproduces by budding. Yeast also reproduces by budding.

❒ Regeneration :

  • This is also one of the type of asexual reproduction. In regeneration, the organisms have the ability to grow from their fragments .

  • Example : Planaria, Starfish reproduces by regeneration. If the part of their body is cut , they can regain and grow into a new individual.
