The largest part of the human brain is the cerebral cortex (cortex means bark in latan). This is an appropriate name, because the brain does its computation only on the six surface layers. The very back part of the brain contains the cerebellum (little brain), which is attached to the Hindbrain.

The brain is one of the largest and most complex organs in the human body. It is made up of more than 100 billion nerves that communicate in trillions of connections called synapses.

The brain has three main parts:

The cerebrum

Cerebellum

Brainstem.

The cerebellum  receives information from the sensory systems, the spinal cord, and other parts of the brain and then regulates motor movements.

The cerebrum performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing. It also works on our reasoning and mental work as well as emotions

The brainstem is the region of the brain that connects the cerebrum with the spinal cord. It relays signals between spinal cord and brain.
