Jauhar is the term given to a ritual which meant suicide for the queens as they would prefer to die rather than being in the hands of the enemy king.

sati - it was a social evil practice in between 18 to 19 century in india . In this when a man dies and if he is married the wife of the husband is burnt alive in the fire by people of society .

jauhar - it was a practice in mainly rajput family of rajasthan in this when the king dies or captured by enemies in war .the Queen would burnt themselves alive so that they can't be captured by enemies .
