force is the physical quantity which brings about a motion in a body or can change the speed ,shape ,direction of motion ,state of motion of a body

and before telling that whether it is vector or scalar quantity we should the meaning of both the terms

scalar - the quantity or physical quantity which has only magnitude but has no direction is a scalar quantity

vector - the quantity which has both magnitude as well as direction is called vector quantity

so from conclusion we can conclude that the force is a vector quantity having direction as well as magnitude
