In most conceptions the fundamental rights (aka “natural rights”) are life, liberty and property. In theory all other rights flow from these three. They are held to be rights stemming from our existence as human beings. It is important to note that while these rights are held to be inalienable, they are not absolute.

Fundamental rights are a group of rights that have been recognized by the Supreme Court as requiring a high degree of protection from government encroachment. These rights are specifically identified in the Constitution (especially in the Bill of Rights), or have been found under Due Process.
