Definition of meristem:
- It a developmental plant tissue which is generallyly made up of small cells capable of separating continually and giving rise to "similar cells" or to "cells that differentiate to create the definitive tissues and organs".
- Meristematic cells contribute rise to different organs of a plant and are accountable for growth. Meristematic cells are commonly small in nature and "cuboidal with large nuclei", "small vacuoles", and "thin walls".
