Transpiration is the process in which water moves to the surface of the plant and gets evaporated.

Explanation:

  • Plants absorb lots of water but it only use a small amount of water for metabolic activities and most of the water moves out of plants through guttation and transpiration.
  • In transpiration, the water moves out through pore in leaves and stems and gets evaporated in the atmosphere.

Experiment:

Tie a plastic bag around a leave in the night.

Take out the plastic bag in the early morning.

You will see the moisture or water droplets on the leave.
