Unorganised sector comprises of small and scattered units that do not work under the control of the government.

Disadvantages of unorganised sector are as follows:

1.WAGES: Workers in the unorganised sector are paid low wages which are often irregular. They are not paid allowances such as Dearness allowance or compensatory allowance. Moreover they are not paid extra for more number of hours and for working on holidays.

2. SAFETY: No safety measures are taken in the unorganised sector for the protection of the workers. This result in injuries or death of labourers in the factories in case of any accident.

3. HEALTH: Workers are not paid for medical aid in the unorganised sector. When they fall ill or get injured they get themselves treated by the private doctors. Working conditions are also unhygienic. As a result they often remain ill and there productivity decreases.
