Define the term "Velocity"
Answers
★What is Velocity?
The meaning of velocity of an object can be defined as the rate of change of the object’s position with respect to a frame of reference and time. It might sound complicated but velocity is basically speeding in a specific direction. It is a vector quantity, which means we need both magnitude (speed) and direction to define velocity. The SI unit of it is meter per second (ms) if there is a change in magnitude or the direction in the velocity of a body the body is said to be accelerating.

✒ Velocity
- Velocity is defined as speed of an object in particular direction.
- SI unit of velocity is m/s.
- It is a vector quantity.
- Velocity = Displacement/time.

✒ There are two types of velocity
1. Uniform Velocity
2. Non-uniform Velocity
-----------------------------------------
Let understand the concept of velocity in detail.
-----------------------------------------
✏ Uniform Velocity :-
When object cover equal distances in equal interval of time then uniform velocity take place.
✏ Non-uniform Velocity :-
When object cover an unequal distances in equal interval of time then non-uniform velocity take place.
-----------------------------------------
-: Additional Information :-
-----------------------------------------
✏ Velocity of an object can be changed by :-
- Changing the speed of object.
- Changing direction of body.
- Changing both time and direction of object. (Both)
✏ Average Velocity :-
- The average velocity of an object is its total displacement divided by the total time taken.
- In other words, it is the rate at which an object changes its position from one place to another.
- Average velocity is a vector quantity.
