In a bond between two identicalatoms, half the bond distance is equal to the covalent radius. Bond lengths are measured in the solid phase bymeans of X-ray diffraction, or approximated in the gas phase bymicrowave spectroscopy. A bond between a given pair of atoms mayvary between different molecule

Bond length is the average distance from the centre of two nuclei of atoms while bond energy tells about the strength of the bond. More bond length means atoms in molecules are held at more distance which means they are weak and have less bond energy while in case of short bond length, they are tightly held and have more bond energy
