The distance between two consecutive crests and troughs or compression and rarefaction called aa wavelength.

The number of oscillations in one second called as frequency.

Let v be velocity of wave, W be wavelength and T be time period.

Since v = W/T

v = W* 1/T

Since 1/T is frequency.

= v = W* V

= Wave Velocity = Wavelength * Frequency.
