Pollutants: Pollutants are harmful and toxic substances that causes pollution of the environment like water pollution, air pollution etc.

For example, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide are harmful gases that leads to air pollution hence they can be regarded as pollutants.

Acid rain: Many harmful pollutants remain suspended in the air and they get mixed up in the clouds which burst and fall on the environment as acid rain. So acid rain is the rainwater that is mixed with acidic and toxic substances as a result of continued environmental pollution
