Resolution is the smallest unit of measurement that can be indicated by an instrument. Sensitivity is the smallest amount of difference in quantity that will change an instrument's reading. A measuring tape for example will have a resolution, but not sensitivity.

Resolution : Resolution is the ability to distinguish two points as separate structures rather a single fuzzy dot. In practice, resolution is a measure of the level of detail that can be seen using a microscope.

Sensitivity : The sensitivity of a sensor is defined as the change in output of the sensor per unit of input signal being measured. Sensitivity may be linear or non linear, depending on the type of sensor. For example, a thermistor measures temperature and its resistance will change for each 1 degree Celsius change.
