there are three types of tectonic plate boundries:-.1.converging
.2.diverging
3.tranforming boundries
converging plates move towards each other and due the collision between them a new land mass uprises,in this case due to the convergance of the indo-austrian and the eurasian plates the great himalyas are formed. and they are still forming that is also the reason they are called young fold mountains
