Magnetic bearing: using magnetic compass readings to navigate from beginning to end points on the Earth’s surface. magnetic compass readings show the user where the magnetic poles are in relation to their own location at a certain time and show that using minutes and seconds of arc. but the North and South Magnetic poles on a map are not located at the vertical axes.

“True bearing” refers to the geometric lines which also define loci on the surface of the earth and are thought of as “true” because they never move like the Magnetic Poles and because the North and South Geographical poles are precisely opposite “points” on the spherical Earth.
