Tissues are groups of cells that have a similar structure and act together to perform a specific function. The word tissue comes from a form of an old French verb meaning “to weave”. There are four different types of tissues in animals: connective, muscle, nervous, and epithelial.
ANIMAL TISSUES
Tissue - a group of cell which perform a specific functions.
All complex animal have only 4 basic types of tissue
1 ) EPITHELIAL TISSUE ÷
This tissue has a free surface which faces either a body fluids or the outside environment and thus provides a covering or a lining for some parts of the body
epithelial tissue further divided into many types like
- squamous epithelium
- cuboidal epithelium
- columnar epithelium
- ciliated epithelium
2). CONNECTIVE TISSUE
It help in linking and supporting other tissue or organ of the body. They range from soft connective tissue to specialised connective tissue
- cartilage
- bone
- adipose
- blood
3). MUSCLE TISSUE
Muscle tissue are made up of fibres know as myofibrils. it have ability to contract and relaxed .
it is of following types
- skeletal muscle
- smooth muscle
- cardiac muscle
4). NEURAL TISSUE
It exerts the greatest control over the body responsiveness to changing environment condition . it has property to get excitable
