The unit of pressure can be easily defined by studying the definition of pressure itself.

Pressure is the thrust acting per unit area. We know that thrust is the force acting perpendicularly.

Therefore,
Pressure = Thrust/Area


Now,
Unit of pressure = Unit of force/Unit of area

Unit of pressure = newton/metre^2 = N/m^2
This unit is in MKS system.

In SI system the unit of pressure is pascal.
