Answer:

A rational number is a number that can be in the form p/q

where p and q are integers and q is not equal to zero.

If q=0 then the value becomes infinity

Ex: 5/0= infinity

Examples of irrational number = pie , Epslon(e).....

Examples for rational numbers:

1/2, 1/4

1/3 is also a rational number because the digits after point(0.33333....) will be repeating .The value can be predictable as 0.3(bar on 3)

But if you take 0.1235891 the value is not predictable so these type of numbers are irrational.
