Thermoplastic and Thermosetting are two different types of plastic.
• Thermoplastic-
These are soft and melt on heating. They can be given different shapes. Eg- Polythene, PVC (Polyvinyl chloride)
•Thermosetting-
These are hard and do not melt on heating, if exposed to high temperature they simply burn instead of melting. They can be shaped only once. These are used for making electrical switches, plugs, etc.
Eg- Bakelite and melamine.
