A time period (denoted by 'T' ) is the timeneeded for one complete cycle of vibration to pass in a given point. As the frequency of a wave increases, the time period of the wave decreases.


The base unit of time in the International System ofUnits (SI), and by extension most of the Western world, is the second, defined as about 9 billion oscillations of the caesium atom.
