About TOXIN :

Toxin is a poisonous substance that is a specific product of the metabolic activities of a living organism and is usually very unstable, notably toxic when introduced into the tissues, and typically capable of inducing antibody formation.

About VACCINE :

Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person's immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

The toxin invades the bloodstream and is largely responsible for the symptoms of the disease. The protein-based toxin is rendered harmless (toxoid ToxoidInactivated or killed toxin (poison) used in vaccine production.) and used as the antigen in the vaccine to elicit immunity.
