Definition of Transpiration: Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts especially from leaves
Its Type:
- Cuticular Transpiration
- Lenticular Transpiration
- Stomatal Transpiration
Answer: It is explained as follows:
Explanation:
Plants release the excess water through a process called transpiration, it is released in the form of moisture or water vapour. Some of the water in the soil is absorbed by the roots, while the excess evaporates into the air. Types of transpiration depending on the organ through which it takes place are:
Stomatal transpiration: When water is evaporated through small pores present on leaves called stomata; is known as stomatal transpiration.
Cuticular transpiration: When water is evaporated through impermeable layer cuticle; is known as cuticular transpiration.
Lenticular transpiration: It is the evaporation of water through lenticels is known as lenticular transpiration.
