A triangle is a three-sided polygon that consists of three edges and three vertices

On the basis of length of the sides, triangles are classified into three categories:

  1. Scalene Triangle
  2. Equilateral triangle
  3. Isosceles Triangle

On the basis of measurement of the angles, triangles are classified into three categories:

  1. Acute Angle Triangle

    2. Right Angle Triangle

    3. Obtuse Angle Triangle

Triangle are classified on the basis of sides and angles.

On the basis of Sides :

  1. Equilateral triangle : A triangle whose all 3 sides are equal in length.
  2. Isosceles triangle : A triangle whose 2 sides are equal in length.
  3. Scalene triangle : A triangle whose all 3 sides are of different length.

On the basis of Angles :

  1. Acute angle triangle : A triangle whose one angle is smaller than 90°. (<90°)
  2. Right angle triangle : A triangle whose one angle is 90°.(=90°)
  3. Obtuse angle triangle : A triangle whose one angle is greater than 90°.(>90°)
