tributaries :when the ice from mountains melts down it forms glaciers theses glaciers further form into small river streams which further joins the main river .

distributaries: when the the river branches of and fows away from the mainstream.they are mst formed in river deltas

bhabar: it lies to the south of shiwalik range. the width ranges between 8 to 16 km .the area is highly coarse in nature due to many pebbles and 'kankars' found over there. main features is  that river disapears in the bhabar reigon because f its big pores present in it.vegetation os very less

bangar:it is the old alluvium that is formed after the change in coarse of the river . since bhangar has been used up , therefore the fertility is comparitiely less than the khadar .  the texture of the soil is coarse of concentration of 'kankars' the soil is darker in colour comparitively  than the khadar. it is slighly above from the flood plains
