1.Solute: The minor component in a solution, dissolved in the solvent.

eg- sugar, salt etc.

2.Solvent: The component present in more quantity or which has more concentration in a solution OR a liquid that dissolves a solid, liquid or gaseous solute.

eg- water, milk etc.
