Answer:

“Unequal access to basic services”

The above mentioned statement clearly provides the reason for poverty. The basic services or amenities for human to lead a better life are - health care services, education, pure drinking water availbility, other important infrastructures (toilets, electricity, roadways, etc) .

In the developing countries, it is generally seen that these basic amenities are not accessible for the people living mostly in the rural areas or countryside. As these people are unaware of the policies and works which government frames for them, because they are not active in knowing, neither the head of their area take any initiative to make the people apprise of the availability of the services.

The economies in the world facing the problem of poverty needs to work on overall economic development rather than the economic growth [mostly countries are concerned about the growth, and focuses on only prospects of economic growth], but for a country to become a powerful nation development is necessary.

Growth is a quantitative progress but Development is both quantitative as well as qualitative progress. Growth and development both can help in alleviate poverty and in elevation of living standard
