The direction of acceleration is always directed towards the centre of the circle and is called centripetal acceleration.

E.g : 1) Motion of arteficial satellite around the earth

       2) A stone  attached to a string at one end and whirled in a circular       path with constant speed by holding at the other end executes uniform circular motion
