Accelerating objects are objects which are changing their velocity - either the speed (i.e., magnitude of the velocity vector) or the direction. An object undergoing uniform circular motion is moving with a constant speed. Nonetheless, it is accelerating due change in direction.

An object in uniform circular motion is moving with a constant speed but the tangent drawn to the path shows that the direction changes, therefore uniform circular motion is accelerated motion.
the object continues to move in the direction in which it has been moving at that instant.
eg
when an athlete throws a hammer or a discus in a sports meet.
