HELLO MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

unit is standard measurement of the physical quantities

units are divided into two parts

  • fundamental physical unit
  • derived physical unit

1.fundemental physical unit

unit that is used to measure the fundamental physical unit is called as fundamental physical quantities

2 derived physical unit

unit that is used to measure the derived physical quantities

Hi there,

Please be patient in reading...

(and forgive me for my spellin' mistakes if any)

Well.... in simple words .....

a unit can be a standard quantity by which we can compare quantities of the same or of different kinds.

like....

we have 1 meter scale....

and a different variant..... a 5 meter scale.....

suppose we take the 1 meter scale as our standard....

then we can say 5 times this standard unit is the length of the 5 meter scale...

thereby making measurment of any length convenient by this way... (in meters only)////.....

even simpler if u didn't understand.....

say....

there is a pen of a particular kind... and we take this pen as our standard....

and by standard we mean our reference for measuring its like......

and say.. there are 30 other pens of the same kind in a box.... then 30 times this standard is just taken...

so..... thereby we can define this standard as a unit by which we can measure quantities of its like...

1 pen + 3 pens = 4 pens

where pen is a base unit....

similarly...

for carrots

1 carrot +3 carrots + 5 carrots = 9 carrots ... (unit)

but at no cost can we simplify

2carrots + 1 tomato + 3mangos = veggi soup.... (because the units are different) so its not possible....

units can be added together only if they are the same....

however this rule does not apply for multiplication or division....

we can always get a derived unit from the basic(fundamental) defined units...

as u know speed is a derived unit of length and time due to division.....

v = s/t                         ( length/time)

Derived!!!!

so we can always say

we add 2 tomatoes for every carrot by replacing the carrot

so.. say we have 1 carrot in a vegetable box and we want to add two tomatoes.....

we can do so only by removing the carrot because the condition is to remove a carrot for every two tomatoes...

1 carrot x 2tomatoes/carrot = 2 tomatoes...

and say in a different box we have 3 carrots and we want to add tomatoes in the place of carrots...

so...

for every carrot 2 tomatoes...

and for 3 carrots we need 6 tomatoes... we can arrive at this result by multiplication...

box _____________________________

      |                                                               |

      |                  3 carrots                               |

___________________________________

and we want to add tomatoes in the place of carrots so...

3 carrots x 2 tomatoes/carrot = 6 tomatoes.....

hope u get the picture....

so,,,,... lets do the same with the internationally accepted units instead of vegetables...

there is SI system(international)

length -> meter (m)

time -> t(s)

luminous intensity-> candela(Cd)

Current->Ampere(A)

Temperature ->Kelvin(K)

amount of substance->moles(mol)

mass->Kilogram(Kg)

there are other systems widely known...

FPS system(imperial)

CGS system...

u can google all these...

so... the use of these units...

u already know...

2 meter

and 273 kelvin

and 5 ampere and all...

but when it comes to speed... and charge and power n' all...

these are derived quantities from the base units...

speed (m/s) = Length(m)/Time(s)

power = work (force x acc x displacement)/time

power(watt) = Kg x m/s² x m /s

so power(units in basic form) = kg m²/s³

and by this u can derive the units in physics...

hope u get the idea...... please read twice over to gain more insight..
