Valency Bond theory :

1. Electrons present in the molecule are localised as if they are in isolated atoms.

2. The Atomic orbitals of the combining atoms retain their individual identity.

3. It involves only the increase in the electron density in the region of orbital overlap.

Answer: valence bond  is a theory in it which describes chemical bonding. VBT states that the overlap of the incompletely filled atomic orbitals leads to the formation of a chemical bond between two atoms. The unpaired electrons are shared and a hybrid orbital is formed. Valence bond theory views bonds as weakly coupled orbitals (small overlap).
