  • It is no of electrons the element can donate/accept/share with another entity.

(1) Aluminium in aluminium sulphate -

  • Valency of Al in Al2(SO4)3 is +3.

(2) Sodium in sodium sulphate -

  • Valency of Na in Na2SO4 is +1.
