Definition of Vector product :-

A vector c whose length is the product of the length of two vectors a and b and the sine of their included angle, whose direction is perpendicular to their plane, and whose direction is that in which a right- handed screw rotated from a toward b along axis c would move.

Example of vector product of two vectors:-

Torque acting on rotating body is defined as vectors product π = r × F, where F is a force and r is a position vector of the point of action of force. If a and b are the adjacent sides of parallelogram, them the area of parallelogram is given as A = (a×b)

hope it helps
