Answer: In biology, a vein is a blood vessel which carries blood toward the heart (deoxygenated blood - blood that does not contain oxygen in it). These, veins form part of the circulatory system. They have valves, unlike arteries. These veins have thin walls and large lumen. The blood flowing in it is usually at a slow rate. These veins are superficial, which means they are located near the surface of the skin.
