Answer:

Define Velocity.........?

  • The velocity of an object is the rate of change of its position with respect to a frame of reference, and is a function of time.

  • Velocity is equivalent to a specification of an object's speed and direction of motion.

  • 'S' is the displacement of an object in some time 'T', then the velocity is equal to, v = S/T. The units of velocity are m/s or km/hr.

Speed is define as the Distance covered by an object in a single unit of Time.

Now Speed is a scalar Quantity which means it depends only on magnitude(Value) of how much speed it aquare by covering distance per unit time.

While Velocity is dimensionally same with that of speed but Velocity is a vector quantity which means it depends on both Magnitude and Direction. If direction changes velocity also get change.

Now We are in a position to define velocity,

Velocity can be defined as the displacement covered per unit time.

Velocity = Displacement/Time

Now Displacement is also a vector quantity of distance which means the shortest distance (straight path) from initial to final position.

Unit of Velocity is same that of Speed i.e. meter per second. mps, Kmph etc.

Lets have a case study :-

If a body is in uniformly circulated motion, its speed is same but velocity is changing. How?

Even the speed is remaining same in uniformly circulated motion still its velocity is changing because velocity depends on both magnitude and direction and in uniform circulated motion the direction is changing continously hence its velocity is also change.

Furthur it is said that change in velocity is called accelerated motion. so, uniform circular motion is accelerated.
