velocity is the displacement covered by any body in per unit time.
V =d/t
it's a vector quantity because it depends on both numerical value and direction

velocity - it is the rate of change of position and not displacement........

Velocity is  a vector quaquantity and hence has a magnitude as well as direction..

We denote vector as v with an arrow on its head..

There r two kinds of velocity ir even more like

1. Average velocity
2. Instantaneous velocity
3. Variable velocity
4. Uniform velocity.

Hope it helps
