Define water of crystallisation. Give the chemical formula for two
compounds as examples. How can it be proved that the water of
crystallisation makes a difference in the state and colour of the
compounds?​

water of crystallisation is no. of water molecules attached to a compound in a fixed no. after its crystallisation .

for ex : 1) Na2CO3 . 10 H2O ( in this 10 H2O is water of crystallisation of Na2CO3)

2) CaSO4. 2H2O ( gypsum , 2 H2O water of crystallisation )

proof : like when blue vitrol is heated it losses water of crystallisation and get dry to form precipitate and change its colour blue to white
