Answer:

The western cyclonic disturbances are experienced in north and north western parts of India during winter season. They are caused due to the westerly winds which flow from west to east between 300-600 latitude.                                                                Formation.                                                                                                                         Western disturbances originate in the Mediterranean region. A high-pressure area over Ukraine and neighbourhood consolidates, causing the intrusion of cold air from polar regions towards an area of relatively warmer air with high moisture.                                                                                                                        Tropical cyclone

A tropical cyclone is a rapidly rotating storm system characterized by a low-pressure center, a closed low-level atmospheric circulation, strong winds, and a spiral arrangement of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain or squalls.  formation

Tropical cyclones form only over warm ocean waters near the equator. To form a cyclone, warm, moist air over the ocean rises upward from near the surface. As this air moves up and away from the ocean surface, it leaves is less air near the surface.

Explanation:

Western disturbance is induced by the westerlies, whilst tropical Cyclones are triggered by low-pressure currents of heavy wind that arise through or near large water bodies. Throughout northern and north-western India, winter cyclonic disruptions are felt.
