Osmosis is the movement of a solvent across a semipermeable membrane toward a higher concentration of solute (lower concentration of solvent).

The movement of gases (like carbon dioxide and oxygen) from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration through a semi permeable membrane is known as diffusion.

Osmosis: Osmosis is the movement of solvent particles across a semipermeable membrane from a dilute solution into a concentrated solution. ... Diffusion: Diffusion is the movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to lower concentration. The overall effect is to equalize concentration throughout the medium.

Hope it helps :))
