whenever a force make a body move, then work is said to be done. for doing work, energy is required. when work is done, an equal amount of energy is used up.

work is measured in Newton metre / joule which is denoted by the letter J

if the force f abuser to the direction of motion of a body, then the angle 0 between the direction of motion and the direction of force is 180 . in the sketch the component of force F acting in the direction of motion body becomes -F ( minus F).
