YOUNGS MODULUS OF ELASTICITY:

Within elastic limit , the ratio of longitudinal stress to the longitudinal strain is called YOUNGS MODULUS OF ELASTICITY of a material.

FORMULA:

 \gamma  =  \frac{longitudinal \: stress}{longitudinal \: strain}  \\  =  >  \gamma  =  \frac{ \frac{force}{area} }{ \frac{change \: in \: length \: }{original \: length} }  \\  =  >    \gamma  =  \frac{force}{\pi {r}^{2} }  \times  \frac{original \:  \: length }{change \: in \: length}
