I usually don't hang out with people much, so I suppose I can answer this one.
The reason why one can be an introvert can be for two reasons, one, because they might not be confident, and may just be shy to interact with people, or they might not have much in common with people around them.
So as an introvert, I define one/myself to be gauche, and socially clumsy.
