What is Zeolites?
A shape-selective catalyst having Honeycomb structure which permit only selective molecules.
Examples:
- ZSM-5
- Linde-A (synthetic)
- Faujasite (natural)
Application of Zeolites:
- Acts as water softener & selective absorbents.
- Used as "ions-exchanger" in softening of hard water.
- For cracking of Hydrocarbons & Isomerization.
