Autotrophic nutrition :

  • In this mode of nutrition, food is synthesized from the inorganic substances.
  • For autotrophic nutrition, chlorophyll and sunlight are required.
  • Food is generally prepared at day time.
  • All green plants and some bacteria possess autotrophic mode of nutrition.
  • Organism prepares its own food.
  • It is independent for its food requirements.
  • eg :green plants

Heterotrophic nutrition :

  • In this mode of nutrition,  food is obtained from the autotrophs or another organisms.
  • For heterotrophic nutrition, chlorophyll and sunlight are not required.
  • Food can be obtained any time.
  • All fungi and animals possess heterotrophic mode of nutrition.
  • Organism does not prepare its own food.
  • It depends on plants for food requirements
  • eg :animals, human beings etc.

hope it helps ..............
