Tension :-It is the kind of force that pulls a body, like the one stablished by strings, or chains. Forces are vectors, and always straight, there are not curved forcesThere is also a compression force, like the oneshown above. Strings just stand tension and not compression.

Friction : To stop a moving object, a force must act in the opposite direction to the direction of motion. For instance, if you push your book across your desk, the book will move. The force of the push moves the book. As the book slides across the desk, it slows down and stops moving. The force that opposes the motion of an object is called friction.

 \huge{\bold{\red{FRICTION}}} is an opposing force applied between the moving object and the surface on which it is moving.

It is actually an opposing force which is applied in opposite direction of the motion .
